Thanks for all the help. It was a macro clash.

I hope in the future the search bar gets syntax highlighting so that it shows what is plaintext and what is a macro.

I'm running into an issue with no results showing for I:\ when I:\ is entered as the search.

Strangely I:\ results do show for when the search is empty and has a full list.

Could be a bug.

I'm using version 1.5.0.1373a (x64).

Please consider adding an icon library/set for bookmark icons (dark mode and light mode sets).

Even if they are basic tiny icons for generic types, e.g:

File
Folder
Movie
Video
Document
Heavy (weight)
Light (feather)

exFAT volumes that are offline make the status bar endlessly show "Rescanning ...".

Please consider adding column sets to the results view.

This would allow for easy switching for filetypes. For example video to audio formats.

It be nice to have a direct rename feature for the Bookmarks Left Sidebar.

Please consider adding a checkbox option to show the Window Title as the name of a bookmark (if a bookmark is active).

This would help with longer searches.

Also it might be a good idea to sync the selected item in the Bookmarks Left Sidebar when
the user selects a bookmark from the top menu bar.

Completely empty folders (empty: or childcount:0)
Folders with only folders in them (childfilecount:0 childcount:>0)
Folders with only folders including in sub-folders (descendantfilecount:0 childcount:>0) v1.5 only
Folders with more than ...

Ah, I worked out I was missing the "s in the search.

zonetrooperex

The file: modifier seems to match files\ in the path (bolded).

e.g search:

C:\ !C:\Windows size:>10MB !C:\Game Files\ !.vscode\ !WindowsApps\ !"Program Files\" !.msi file:

is this expected or a bug?

I've found a bug for renaming a video file:

In this case I'm trying to add [WTD] to the end of the filename.

The file is 5GB and is on an exFAT volume (USB 3.0 External HDD).

Edit:

Turned out the file was acting weird and not appearing even in Windows Explorer.
Moved it to a NTFS ...

Unless I'm confused there seems to be an issue with case sensitivity (using case: ).

I'm running Version 1.5.0.1329a (x64).

If I run:

file: case: regex: "Games"

or

file: case: "Games"

The results contain lowercase and non-matching files like:

nvgamesr.dll
UserGameStatsSchema_563560 ...

Please consider showing a filesize for selected item in the results list if the results are all files and the index setting is set to "Index file size".

e.g. 8 videos at 1GB each = 8GB

hmm. no. I guess it's more like "allow suffix in filename", I'll do some homework on this.

I mean the prefix for the filename (matching the first 12 characters of the file name).

e.g. this would match

filename: 123456789012ABC.txt
folder: 123456789012

Is it possible in Everything to:

show video files where the folders they exists within match their file name.

e.g.

filename: example-video.mp4

that exists in the folder: example-video

Hmm.. that doesn't quite do what I'm thinking of.

I'd like it to size the columns to the text contents itself, not the size of the window.

Also not onWindowResize but onResultsRefresh .

Please consider adding a "Copy Name to Clipboard" to the context menu for the main window.
[to compliment the existing "Copy Full Name to Clipboard"]

For example for the object "test.txt" in the folder "C:\Temp" it would get "test.txt" (not the full path).

It'd be so useful to know the be way for performance based off the order of search terms.

e.g. which is faster (or better)?

Please consider improving the thumbnail views in Everything.

1) Currently they have squared off (1:1) white-space instead of a better (frame height + some padding).

2) It would be useful for file-name label for thumbnails to actually text-wrap down to multiple lines.
