Re: Slow "Querying" while compiling something
Any chance a future version might have a tray function to toggle monitoring on/off, and #2 is there currently an ini value i'm not aware of to tell ES to always start with a certain process priority? If not, could you consider that as well as it those two should not take too excessive code ...

Re: Slow "Querying" while compiling something
Yes but as I said, first of all this is always while already running, and not at new startup, and even if a shortcut could - it would be nice to be able to toggle this monitoring on and off via the tray icon. As for the process priority - that too COULD be performed using other methods AT STARTUP or ...

Re: Slow "Querying" while compiling something
I would love to see an additional feature added of the monitor pause/resume as a tray icon context menu item option - be it default or optional to allow a quick method to pause/resume without even having to open the main GUI or launch shortcuts.

Then perhaps write the regex yourself because it also works for me.
First of all, you do NOT even have the regex he posted above correctly typed in your screenshot, and I see NUMEROUS questions posted from you over the last couple months then accosting either this tool author who has graciously ...

Re: Everything New Logo
Is there any chance of perhaps adding an option for which program icon to use as I have seen in other apps? Otherwise, as stated the only real way to change the running process icon is to reshack and replace the actual icon resources in the exe, which on top of changing the actual app exe (not ...

Re: Allow custom remapping of file paths
Ahh, perfect! Yea sorry all three of those Junctions are all drive D: due to legacy pathing that also involved cloud storage that was not compatible with seeing a Junction. Certainly not the best example but I figured as kludgy as it was if it worked with a nested junction inside the other, along ...

Re: Allow custom remapping of file paths
Oh wait a min! In your above code example, note that the example path given was D:\game\intermediate but then it appears the method is to take the LAST part of the path "intermediate" and place that on the root line as shown? LOL that must be my issue perhaps you used bad example paths? :)

Hi sorry I missed your reply....how is what you suggested any different than what I did above? Sorry I'm missing it just seems like all your instructions have me doing is renaming my progscripts macro name to ps and running it in the bar exactly the same as I did above when the name was longer?

Okay so first let me attempt to more easily clarify what is happening and below I will give more detail of my config.
For your above example ini let's say you have the following when you open windows explorer:
F:\Rootfolder
F:\file01.txt
F:\intermediate\THIS_IS_A_TEST_FOLDER

Re: Allow custom remapping of file paths
Is this known to still be working in the most current beta 1.4.1.921? I ask because when I perform the re-mapping, instead of getting the remap of the mounted junction folder, the "root" defined of the junction folder is instead being remapped to the root drive letter.

@void regarding your last src filter there I've wanted to ask this and keep forgetting. In regards to filters and CONTENT (which I understand is not indexed).....it seems to be a very different execution path in the app whether I do this in the main ES bar (poor real life example sorry):

I wasn't sure if I should post here, or resurrect the decade-old thread here: https://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4481
Either way after searching to see if ADS indexing had been added yet to Everything, I came across that above thread asking for a mainstream example of app(s) that ...

Ahh, I was curious how and at what point the ini was set that way and that clarified is since I did run the msi installer initially and now overlay beta binaries. Thanks!

ETP missing in beta?
I'm sorry but I"m very frustrated I see no obvious docs that I'm missing for years I did NOT want and disabled then ignored the ETP server part of everything.
Now, years later I have the need to use the SDK dll which apparently needs the "server" running as service. So I enabled Everything to run ...

So I've continued to update my nightly x64 build almost daily and haven't seen any other activity on this but have to say, I am truly blown away that the functionality to search FLAC tags of all things (and I'm actually an avid FLAC music user myself) is anywhere in the same UNIVERSE as what we are ...

Okay then I'm very confused and feel like we've wasted a bunch of time explaining this over and over just to say it's not supported. This isn't "following" a junction perhaps I've explained this not so well?

I've added these junctions using both the MS included mklink cmdline using the /J switch, and/or the popular shell extension "Hard link shell extension" at http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html that uses the exact same MS API calls to make the links that all require ...

Sorry for the late reply. I just tested build 846 from one folder deep into a junction structure and no matter what options, it still shows zero files present under it anywhere. Do I need to edit a setting on the new builds to make it work?

Re: Symbolic links
Try your test with a JUNCTION to a folder on an ALTERNATE DISK. I think you will find that anywhere in the depth of that junction, even if 10 levels deep after that (which is where this gets very dangerous), the tool will show zero files and folders - no results. So I guess I take back I would be ...

Re: Symbolic links
I guess I can show you multiple screenshots on multiples systems here but if I run this tool within a folder path structure that has stemmed earlier from a JUNCTION, it ALWAYS displays ZERO files. I'll work on shooting you a screen grab video to demonstrate a bit later when I have a few minutes.

I'm still not tracking. If a file only exists ONCE, at least in my test cases where you have <NOT> criss-crossed junctions (anything can put you in a bad symlink loop just look at backing up "documents and settings" these days :) )

Re: Symbolic links
This is just not the case all the way up to last night's nightly beta build. In fact, if I am ANYWHERE within a symlink's path depth, everything fails to show ANY files - the list is always 100% BLANK.
Example:
Real path: C:\Files\OLDStructure\Cause\It\Is\Cool\Scripts\Sync
Symlink: D:\NewDrive ...
