This will likely have to do with the (Windows or third party) iFilter that is being used to extract this information for searching/indexing.
I guess "trd" is left out by the iFilter as it is not considered content/data, but part of the " structure" of the XML.

There is a file manager that uses that principle too: 32-bit is free; 64-bit requires donation.

The list of Local NTFS volumes in the screenshot shows drives C:, D: and E:
Drive C is currently selected and below the list are the settings for that drive C:
Select another drive to show the settings for that specific drive.
But checking is not really needed as these settings are correct ...

Where is your Everything.ini stored? Do you have write-access to that file? I.e. can you edit the file, save it and see the changes being kept?

Everything uses the Windows thumbnail cache. I do know virtually nothing about thumbnails (never use them), but it seems to me that Windows as well as Everything should use the same thumbnail size to prevent double caching.

Exactly like this: child:video:
It will show all folders that contain video-files.
The "search term" you add should therefor be related to the folder-names.
But I might be misunderstanding your goal here. Please post some examples (and what should be the results) for ...

".rar" does not necessarily mean that it's the extension. The following files would be matched too:

When a file is still opened by an application, the USN Journal will not be updated and therefor not picked up by Everything.
When the file is closed, Everything will update the timestamp immediately.
Note: this is for "NTFS-iundexing"; "folder-indexing" will show the same sa Explorer.

I indexed my external volumes (see attached). But how I distinguish them?
As @tuska stated: when a volume has a volume label, that volume label will be shown in OPtions > NTFS.
But the drive needs to be connected (temporary) for Everything to be able to pick up the volume label.

Are you running Everything as administrator? ("ADMINISTRATOR" will be shown in the title bar)

Very likely this is caused by Win11 24H2 update KB5050094 (an update preview). Unstall it, reboot and try again.
