Match Scandinavian ø with regular o

Post by Jerry »

The ability to match foreign diacritics with regular English characters was a great change to this program. Could you also include the ability to match the Scandinavian ø with just the regular o? Currently, this does not work and I have to still paste in that special character to find things.

Examples: The Danish composer Per Nørgård. I can match this if I enter "Per gard" but not with the full name in regular characters, "Per Norgard". For the Norwegian cellist Truls Mørk, I have to necessarily enter the explicit ø. Usually, my folders and files contain only the last name.

Fixed for the next update of Everything.

I have also added many other mappings which should also be included.

Does it include the German character "ß" also?

Thanks.

That should be working already.

Stern Combo Meißen == Stern Combo MeiBen

(so long as Search | Match Diacritics is not enabled)

Currently ß != (not equal to) B

I don't think mapping ß to B would be correct.

It should map to ss. I will look at making a special case for this..

Oops, you're right.
(I now know what I did to throw myself off.)
