With "Match whole filename when using wildcards" enabled, walk index* means walk AND start with index.
With "Match whole filename when using wildcards" enabled, *walk index* means end with walk AND start with index.

Please try disabling "Match whole filename when using wildcards" from Tools -> Options -> Search.
