The only feature that seems missing from Everything seems like an important one.
Under Options/Indexes/Folders I created a couple shared folders on my home network.
I can search based on the full path of the shared folder. That works great.
However, I map that location to a drive and I cannot search it as a drive letter, because drive letters are reserved only for local drives.
That one fix would make your app even more valuable than it already is.
I rely on this app because the search in Windows has been crippled since XP I think.
Your app is ESSENTIAL and should be on every machine in my opinion. I will make a donation.
one feature missing: search mapped drives as drive letter
Re: one feature missing: search mapped drives as drive letter
Under Options/Indexes/Folders i put my shared drives, not folders, after all the root of the drive is a folder itself.
if you can't see your mapped drives must be because you're starting Everything as administrator. Check to see.
That is a Windows feature. Any program started as admin will not see mapped drives.
Easy solution: don't. Who needs admin when all you want is your library/nas to be indexed ? Just start as standard.
personally i don't need "c:\System Volume Information" or hidden system folders to be indexed.
