I think this behaviour started with 1.4.1.877.
Not sure whether it is a bug. I found it unexpected.
Windows 10 Pro.
I have xmouse set on.
I generally have all my settings everywhere in the system set to single click.
In Everything:
Options | Results | Open path with double click in path column = ON;
Options | UI | Single Click Open = Double Click ... behaves as expected.
But with
Options | UI | Single Click Open = Single Click ... unwanted outcomes ...
(A) Single click on a row in Folder column in results opens/executes the file not the folder (ouch).
(B) Double click on a row in Folder column in results both opens/executes the file and opens the folder.
So for safety and sanity, I have to put Single Click Open = Double Click, which means I cannot open a file with single click.
Also, I wonder whether this has anything to do with viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6436.
File opens instead of Folder
Re: File opens instead of Folder
Thanks for the bug report.
It's an issue with the full row select option, this option overrides the double click in the path column option.
While the double click in the path column will still work, the first click will execute the item.
I've changed Everything, so that in the next version, when the full row select option and the double click in the path column option are both enabled and when single/double clicking in the path column the path is opened.
For now, disabling full row select may be the best option.
