Everything (Tools) Options don't work

Hello,

First, just know that I value this program, I will never do without it as long as it runs on my Windows 7 Professional. Just phenomenal.

Now, the problem. I have poor vision, so my 32" screen is setup for as max a visibility as I can get. In the case of Everything, I see 31 rows of data. Identifying just one row, say, in the middle- is not easy to me. So I went to tools, then options, and tried to change "Item states". Specifically I wanted to select Alternate Row (Highlighted). (I think this will show alternating lighter and darker rows.) But first off, the Apply button is grayed out. The only way to get it operational (Black) is to first select the button "Restore Defaults", and then select the Alternate Row choice and press Apply. However, none of this actually accomplishes anything onscreen- AND when I go back into Tools/Options/Item states, it's all back to defaults and Normal anyway.

Try to enable:
Options > View > Alternate row (second checkbox)

Thanks, Stamimail! Yes, that got alternate lines working. Appreciate it.

What about those "Item states" I wrote about -- is that a bug, though? I would like to experiment with it, but it does not work for me.

Maybe it will work for you now, after enabling "Alternate row".
Did you try it?
Also, I think "Highlighted" means Highlighted searched characters in Results. Something like this:

You might also consider changing to a larger font for the result list (where all your files and folders are shown:

Thanks for your reply, NotNull, but nothing changed, Apply button still grayed out.

Oh, Stamimail, same result after using Alternate Row, a grayed out Apply button in Item states.

It's not enough to select an item in "Item states" box.
After you select an item in "Item states" box, you need to change the colors (or other settings) in the settings at bottom.
