Limit search to folder or drive
Limit search to folder or drive
I often right-click on a folder (or a drive) in windows explore (actually xplorer2 - replacement for WE) and select Search Everything. It would be super nice if SE would only scan the folder or drive that I'm attempting to use rather than my entire system (2-500GB drives, 2-1TB RAID1 arrays, 1-1.5TB RAID1 array, 1-2TB RAID1 array plus a couple of 1TB external drives). With the entire rescan it is a rather huge hit.
Re: Limit search to folder or drive
I am working on custom file lists for the next release of "Everything".
Custom file lists will allow you to index and search single folders at a time.

Re: Limit search to folder or drive
Let me know if you want me to give it a shot. I download a bunch of stuff from news groups (100GB in the last week) and have about another week or two to go with this run. I use "Everything" to search my download folder and find the file sets and then move the file set to my desired folder. For me Everything is a super valuable tool.
Re: Limit search to folder or drive
Is this implemented yet? For me there really is only one folder I want to find files in.
Thanks for all the work!

Re: Limit search to folder or drive
To limit "Everything" to index a single folder:
- In "Everything", from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Exclude tab.
- Check Enable exclude list.
- Make sure the exclude list is empty.
- Click Add folder.
- Select Include for type.
- Set the folder to the path you wish to include.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
