Renamed a file & 'lost it'

Post by therube »

renamed a file, & "lost it"
it "disappeared" from my 'Video filter', sorted by size, descending (no search term)
it also lost it's size, 952 MB
though i can find it searching by name, with Video filter enabled
but no longer by 'Video', sorted by size...
actually, i know where it is ;-)
it's going to be at the bottom, cause it has no "size"
yep, sure enough
& i see now, i've actually got 4 files like that, "no size"

created, modified dates are 2016 (except for the rename, today)
I: drive, which has 188 GB free
file is contiguous (1 fragment)
full path length, 139 chars
nothing odd in the path or name

Thanks for the bug report, therube.

Please try Everything 1.4.1.919.

There is a known issue with Everything 1.4.1.914 missing file sizes (should have been fixed in 916).

Renamed a file, & "lost it"
Was it renamed so it no longer matched the video filter search? eg: renaming the extension to some non-video extension.. such as abc.mp4 to abc.txt, or even abc.mp4 to abc

No.

Once I realized, that is once I searched on "key words" rather then by type (video:), I saw that it did still have the correct extension, .mp4, & once I saw that I then realized that as I was sorting by size, if the size had disappeared, the file would then have "vanished", i.e., ending up being at the end of my size sorted list, rather then at my current focus point. No size < 952 MB.
