keyboard shortcut to deselect

I cant seam to find the keyboard-command to deselect files. This is causing some clunkiness in my workflow especially when viewing as a list and i need to select all, then inverse selection..

Am I missing something trivial here?

Hold CTRL and press left mouse button...

.. and if you were looking for a keyboard-only solution:

- move around with Ctrl - Up/Down/PgUp/etc
- (de-)select with Ctrl - Space


EDIT: and if you meant a literal inverse of the selection: Menu:Edit > Invert selection
Default, there is no keyboard shortcut for that, but you can create your own (under Menu:Tools > Options > Keboard)
