very good idea PATH

Post by Debugger »

Initial displaying of paths when entering, just like MasterSeeker - it is a very good idea not to get lost in the jungle of different paths and quickly enter a specific path!!!!

(I used Everything to find MasterSeeker.exe ;-).)

So you're saying in the 'In Directory' field?
I'm not really sure how that is helping me in any way?

path:/tmp/sea/config ...
And I'm not really sure in what way I'd particularly use that in Everything either.

But then, it is good to have options :-).

For example, I enter T:\ and finds all the paths. So this is a SUPER option that is missing in Everything :x

I would like a SEPARATE search box for path
so it would be easier to search filenames and / or paths

I ALSO would like to FREEZE a DRIVE SCAN or PATH
I recently lost HD and have it cataloged in everything
NOW, I would like to take that catalog and REMOVE from CATALOG the items - like DELETE, but ONLY DELETE from Catalog (since file doesn't exist anyway)
a way to SEARCH for TRUE DUPES of TYPE (say .iso) and REMOVE from F: (lost drive)
I would love to say
search ALL my DRIVES - don't update the F Catalog
Find all Duplicates on Missing F and REMOVE from F Catalog if files are Found in ANOTHER location
Create the path of found file (one will do) and Make a COPY LIST to RECREATE the LOST F Structure using existing Duplicate found
make sense?

hold the bus..
I found you can SAVE the FILE LIST
ok, then I FOUND you can OPEN the FILE LIST and remove from it (GREAT) but
I need search funcitonality in it as I do in Everything
If I remove a DIRECTORY, I want it to ask if it should remove all entries (Like I do) instead of having to select all entries

I'm now getting CLOSER to finding what I have lost or try to recover
