Please add HEIC to the list of Picture formats when finding "pictures" and it would be great to also have them show in preview.

HEIC preview is already available if you have installed the required HEIC modules into your Windows
they are not part of Everything.

I'd say the ability to view HEIC thumbnails is a second priority vs. simply being able to find them using the Pictures filter.

Just adding HEIC to searchable extensions seems like a fast thing to implement, and this thread is several years old now. Is there some licensing holdup, like how Microsoft charges $1 to install HEIC capability in Windows?

HEIC will be included in the default filter extensions for pictures in the next version of Everything.

To add HEIC to your picture filter now:

• In Everything, from the Search menu, click Organize Filters....
• Select Picture and click Edit.
• Change the Search to:

  Code: Select all

  ext:ani;apng;avci;avcs;avif;avifs;bmp;bpg;cur;gif;heic;heics;heif;heifs;hif;ico;jfi;jfif;jif;jpe;jpeg;jpg;pcx;png;psb;psd;rle;svg;tga;tif;tiff;webp;wmf

• Click OK.
• Click OK.

Everything uses the system to render thumbnails.
You'll need to install third party software to generate thumbnails for HEIC.
