Sub Folders duplicated

I noticed that MP3 files that if the folder contains sub foldersthe sub folders are listed again
e.g I have a several folders "Artist - Title" with two sub folders "CD 1" and "CD 2".
Everything lists shows Artist - Title in their proper alphabetical order, double click on that title and the sub folder names are displayed
Further down the alphabetical list is a listing of multiple CD 1 and CD 2 entries, each a duplication the original Artist - Title folders sub folders.
Is there a way to prevent this?
I was concerned that if I wrote some rule to prevent the subs from displaying separately it would also affect the main listing's subs.
My concern is I use this great search tool in a Community Radio station and alas half the announcers are barely familiar with a calculator.
They get confused easily

Do you have, Search | Match Path, enabled?

I have tried with Search | Match Path switched on and off with no apparent change. Would I need to rebuild the database if that is changed?
