fix certain search result

Post by congmingyige »

e.g When I search '1.txt', as I set the software configuration previous(put 'E:\1.txt' in the first place when searching '1.txt'), 'E:\1.txt' is in the first place.

I'm sorry that I didn't say " it is a function that I want to sugguest".

What do you mean with "as I set the software configuration previous":
e.g When I search '1.txt', 'E:\1.txt' displaying in the first place is what I want, so I have to set the configuration 'when searching '1.txt', let 'E:\1.txt' displaying in the first place'.

Please forgive me if I don't understand correctly..

Please try enabling search history:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the History tab on the left.
  • Check Enable Search History.
  • Cilck OK.
Search history can be accessed from the drop down box to the right of the search box.
Press Ctrl + Space to auto complete your search.
For example, search for 1.txt and press Ctrl + Space and select E:\1.txt

-or-

Set the run count for E:\1.txt:
  • Right click E:\1.txt in Everything and click Set Run Count....
  • Set a high run count, for example: 1000
Typing in 1.txt in the search box and pressing ENTER will now select E:\1.txt
Set the sort order to Run Count to show items with a higher run count first.

Thanks! It is what I need!

There is only one thing I can't understand:
"Press Ctrl + Space to auto complete your search"
When I press "Ctrl + Space", no thing happens.

Auto complete (Ctrl + Space) will only work if you have search history.

To add the current search to your search history:
Press ENTER from the search box
-or-
Perform an action on a result.

Once you have some search history, typing in a only a few letters and pressing Ctrl + Space will bring up your previous searches.

Why not looking first into the Option / Keyboard ?
For version 1.5 Ctrl-J is default for a list.
And you can assign a hotkey to Result List | Focus highest run count result
