Hi,
My Everything.db database was about 70 MB. Then I added an external NTFS disk that only contains directories, subdirectories, and bitmap image files. Now my Everything.db is about 460 MB. However, the names of those image files are meaningless. Only the names of the directories and subdirectories are important.
Everything takes a couple minutes to rebuild its expanded database. That should be fine. Unfortunately, in my Windows 10 laptop versions more recent than Everything-1.4.1.986.x64 frequently freeze when I try to open the "Context Menu". Thus, I frequently have to kill Everything ,start it again, and wait.
Perhaps some people with many photographs also have disks where the names of the files are meaningless. If so, an option telling Everything to index the folders but not the files of a specific disk would be useful.
I am using the latest versions of Everything and of Windows 10.
Thanks for an excellent program and best regards

Re: Everything option for indexing folders but not files
To include only folders on your external drive:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Exclude tab on the left.
- Change Exclude files to:
e:\**
where e: is your external drive. - Click OK.

Re: Everything option for indexing folders but not files
Thanks for the suggestions.
I should have thought them.
By the way, I told the program "FreeCommander" not to show its 64 bit context menu (ShowContextMenu64Bit=0 in "FreeCommander.ini"). Since then, "Search Everything" never freezes when I open Everything's context menu.
Best regards

has no problems to show the context menu of Everything.
You should stop to use the 32bit version of FC on a X64 OS.
Re: Everything option for indexing folders but not files
It could be a particular item on the context menu that is causing the issue.
