Delayed write failed

Post by dillen »

HI,

I'm using Everything since quite a time and it's a real time saver for me.

Now I'm encountering a strange behaviour in my system (xp sp3) with my local hard drive c: 120GB, 15% free.
I often get a "delayed write failed" message and also Everything is not longer working anymore.
No files on my C disk can be searched anymore.

Is this just a co-incidence or is something corrupted seriously.
I tried chkdisk - but get a message: access denied ... really really strange.

Any ideas?

Christof.

Off the top of my head, so without exploring "delayed write failed", I would say to backup your data.
Or even back it up a few times in different ways.
And expect the unexpected. Like even though your data may "back up", it still may not be valid.

Best case, you have a backup.
Worst case, your drive is failing.

Check drive cables to make sure they're secure.

thx - I'm doing backups daily.

The message I'm getting usually for any system .log or .txt files and not for documents I'm actively working with - so have not encountered any corrupted files yet, but will talk to my helpdesk folks to get a new hard drive soon.
