everything is not listing new files.

for example, it'll list c:\throat.doc 'cos that was created some time back. But if I create a file c:\tapot.t and search for tapot, it can't see that.

Exit Everything.
Delete the Everything.*.db.
Restart Everything.

See if that doesn't "correct" it.

For some reason, what you describe seems to happen every so often.

Done, but it didn't work and didn't even recreate the db file.. the dbfile was something like dscomp.user.db I deleted it. Its getting its old database from somewhere I suppose but don't know where.

Are you sure when you exited Everything, that it actually unloaded (i.e. that it was not still in your system tray, perhaps)?

thanks.. I just tried it again checked the system tray exited it from there, and then it was fine. So I think it must've been in the tray/in memory, and I didn't notice before.. surprising that I made that mistake - anyhow, Your method worked.
