hello, everyone.
i have 2 pcs. one is a desktop pc for daily use, another is a remote pc for backup uses.
(1) main pc = run an standard everything service.
(2) remote pc = run as an everything ETP server.
i would like to search file on these 2 pcs at the same time.
so i tried: Tools \ Options \ Indexes \folder to add remote folders, it acturally worked, but very very very slow. an indexing will take more than 15 mins. (too many files and too slow connection i think.)
and i switched to ETP server mode. with ETP mode, it won't take long to index because files are already been indexed at server side. and it worked just fine and smooth.
question is, it seems like i can't search file on these 2 pcs at the sametime? i have to run 2 instances of everything, one in normal mode for local search, and one in ETP mode, for remote pc's searches.
is it possible run only one instance of everything, and search local files and remote files at the sam time?
how to search local and net drive at the same time?
Re: how to search local and net drive at the same time?
Folder indexing is the recommended method for Everything 1.4.so i tried: Tools \ Options \ Indexes \folder to add remote folders, it acturally worked, but very very very slow. an indexing will take more than 15 mins. (too many files and too slow connection i think.)
An Everything Server is in development.
A client can index their local volumes and an Everything Server index at the same time.

Re: how to search local and net drive at the same time?
i tried to generate minidump file, but everytime popped up a window says "error configuring dump resources" and just generated a 0kb dmp file instead.
and then i realized i was using an x86 version. maybe that's why.
downloaded x64 version, and ran again, and solved problem!
