This relates to another post I put in the support folder, but an extrapolation of it.
Would be truly nice, once a set of results comes back, to be able to sort results by the file type icon (the very first listing on the left side of the page). What I'm looking for is always in there SOMEWHERE, but if I know it's a certain type of file, it would be much easier if I could go to all those files together. My problem is that I usually remember about 2 words (maybe 1) of a file name, so I often end up with long lists of search results. And invariably there is an amazing array of file types that have just these 2 words in them. Who woulda thunk.
Ability to sort by file type (,doc, mp3, etc)
Re: Ability to sort by file type (,doc, mp3, etc)
Is "file type" the same as, extension?
"Everything" version 1.2.1.451a (at the least) can display file extensions, which you can sort by (though not by default).

Yep. .doc, .mp3, whatever.
DO you know a way to do this?
thanks!

Right-click on a column header and select Extension to show the part of the file name after the last period or Type to show the text description of the kind of file.
