1299: deleting hardlink causes dead wood

create a hardlink
- link seen
deleted hardlink
- file (link) still seen (in Everything, but physically gone)
- file (link) ends up as "dead wood"

Not sure just where we are with hardlinks in Everything, so maybe this is expected?
I didn't "look" into this, only noticed that it happened (& didn't try to duplicate either).

Everything does not remove deleted hard links.

There's not enough information in the USN Journal to do this reliably.

Everything will add new hard links and update size, date and attribute information for all hard links.

To update deleted hard links please force a rebuild:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Indexes tab on the left.
  • Click Force Rebuild.
Everything will rescan NTFS volumes occasionally when the USN Journal ID changes.

I'll look into other methods for detecting hard link deletion.
