Exclude paths without reindexing other folders

Post by dan »

It would be great if excluding certain paths didn't force reindexing all the other folders. It would be useful in situation where for example you'd want all network shares to be searched by default and only occasionally search also the C: drive. It would be useful to be able to exclude C: path every now and then.

A workaround is to keep "!C:" in the search bar most of the time, but I'd prefer to have a separate switch that can be easily tick on and off (without rescanning all the other folders).

Alternative is to re-index a partial disk/volume. That is possible in the next update (not yet released).

That is amazing, thank you very much. Exactly what I was looking for.

I am looking firward to the partial index feature as well.

Sorry, two more questions (besides the point):

Is there a way to subsribe to some mailing list to be notified when updates to everything are made?
Would it be possible at all to have separate databases in future releases of everything? That is run two separate instances of everythig with different .db files?

You can do this now with Multiple instances.
