In that regard, IMO, & if you don't care about "meta data" (particularly), mpv.net media player is a great (media) player (with mpv.net being a GUI front-end to mpv) - that handles huge playlists really well (speedily).

Additionally, files dragged from Everything into mpv.net are loaded/played in the order they were listed in Everything.


(Long ago I created a huge randomized playlist, an actual .pls (or .m3u) - with the help of Everything (of course), that I've been playing for ages now, & will play for ages to come.)

frew: As a tip, you can bind the Randomize function to a keyboard shortcut (hotkey) like F6 to randomize your results with a simple button press. That's what I do, and I find myself using it all the time, especially for shuffling music or episodic television shows (eg: I Love Lucy). Just select the top 5 or 20 results and play.

Tools > Options > General > Keyboard > Show commands containing: Randomize
