Shouldn't
Code: Select all
layout:folder-sidebar or add-layout:folder-sidebar
show the folder sidebar? It doesn't (1319a).
Also, is there any difference between Treeview and Folder Sidebar (both are used in the documentation in different places and seem to refer to the same thing)

That works, thank you.
Search functions documentation is wrong in this case.

Updated the documentation, thanks.
I'll add an alias too, so you can use folder-sidebar/folders-sidebar in the next alpha update.

This is great.
Is there a way to have the folder pane focus on a specific folder - either by adding to the search argument or with a shortcut key?
I know about the search command that will do this, but it is not temporary.

Maybe the Explore Path in Everything command?
In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Keyboard tab on the left.
To the right of Show commands containing, search for:
explore
Select File | Explore Path in Everything.
Click Add....
Press a new keyboard shortcut and click OK.
Click OK.

Thank you for the suggestion.
It does open the sidebar temporally, but it opens another Everything window and clears the search argument, which I sometimes need to refine the search.
The most workable answer I found is to have another bookmark with a hot key to open the sidebar, which has to be specifically closed but leaves the search argument alone.

Opening a new window might occur if you use Ctrl or Shift in your keyboard shortcut.
I will fix this in the next alpha update.

Everything 1.5.0.1320a should no longer open a new search window when executing the explore path command.
