Remove the "-1.5a" from the Everything file names?

The file names are different to the of Everything 1.4:


Shoul I remove the "-1.5a" at the end? How could I do it?

The Everything 1.5 alpha runs in a "1.5a" instance.

Everything will add this "-1.5a" to all filenames used to store settings and data.

Please leave the "-1.5a" suffix.

If you like to remove that -1.5 extension from all config files create a file with no extension named
NO_ALPHA_INSTANCE
in the Everything home-dir.

If you only run the 1.5 version as I'm and many others do
set the following entry in the Everything ini file:
alpha_instance=0

OK, but still the desktop icon (added by Option -> General -> Desktop shortcut) gets the "Everything 1.5a" name.

The "Everything 1.5a" name is currently hardcoded.

It will be changed to Everything in the beta/release version.


For now, you may wish to disable the Desktop shortcut and manually create your own Desktop shortcut to your Everything.exe
You can then name the shortcut anything you like.
