Some .cbz thumbnails are not showing

Post by Natsu »

Hello,

I've noticed that some files with the extension .cbz are not showing, and it's strange because some others downloaded in the same batch are showing their thumbnail okay. The thumbnail of the cbz files are produced by CDisplay Ex software. First of all I've checked the other topics about this problem and here is a bit of a summary of the things I've tried so far.

- The thumbnails of the files that don't show up in everything, all of them show up in the file explorer of win10.
- I've tried to rescan the whole folder, but it doesn't solve the problem. I'm scanning a folder connected to a remote place inside my LAN where the files are.
- I don't have any type of exclusion in my exclusion list.
- The files that don't show up are not hidden or read-only files.
- I'm running everthing as user, "Run as administrator" is unchecked and "Everything service" is checked.

I'm still trying to figure out how to solve it, but I'm a bit lost, any idea. Awesome program by the way. 8-)

Is it the thumbnails that are not displaying, or are there files themselves that Everything is not seeing at all?

If you "test" the .cbz (ZIP), does it test correctly?

unzip.exe -t filename.cbz:

Code: Select all

No errors detected in compressed data of Elf Receiver Radio-Craft August 1936.cbz.
I'm not familiar with cbz, but can they have more then one (jpg ?) file within?
And if more then one, what determines which file the thumbnail would be for?

Please make sure you are using the x64 version of Everything.

Are there any errors shown in your debug log?
  • In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
    /debug
  • Search for:
    *.cbz
  • Press F5
  • Are any errors shown in your debug console?

To close the debug console:
  • In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
    /debug

It seems that I have x86 and x64 versions installed, and the one that I was using was x86. Now I can see all the thumbnails with the x64 version like ny win10, thank you very much!, it was a very simple thing that you spotted!. I feel like it was one of those solutions like make sure that the appliance is plugged.

Thank you therube for your insights too. the .cbz is basically a .zip, but for comic readers. They are a bunch of images in the zip, and the one that shows is always the first one. It is normally the cover of the comic.
