Show the beginning and the end of file path

How about trimming the middle so you can see the begging and the end of the path if the full path can't fit in the path column.

For example
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\New Folder\New Folder
will become something like
C:\Documents and Sett....lder\New Folder

Currently(to me)the path column is useless because it always shows very small part of the path(I have to click on the file\folder to see if this is the file in that folder I'm searching for)
