Long custom folder list...

I'm putting this in the ideas section as probably it's not covered...
Basically I wonder if there's a way of searching in a long list of folders (for example 1000-2000 folders). This seems rather a lot for a normal search equation and would best suit a file.
In a sense I think this is equivalent to supplying the Folder Tree as a folder list equivalent to an .efu (perhaps call it an .edu, possibly with optional path aliases), and Everything does the searches appropriate to the folder from it you click on in the Folder tree just as normal (obeying the subchildren tick option at the bottom).
The use case here in my own case is to generate a folder tree list programmatically relevant to some task, or perhaps some may like it manually created, and use it as a basis for working with the associated live files in those folders.
