Might not be possible but I'll ask

Post by mheartley72 »

Hello and good day,

I want to first of all thank everyone who assisted me in my other post about regex and Everything. Those suggestions were great and those who aslo posted other ways of doing the same thing both regex and native DID help immensely!!

I have a question and from what little research I've gathered, it might not be possible but I'll ask.

Has anyone got Everything to be able to search emails in the stock Mail app that comes with Windows 11? Yes I know that the email client there might not be very good however there is a reason why I'm still using it and not anything else at the moment.

Any assistance here is appreciated!

Thank you voidtools for creating this tool. It kind of reminds me of a tool I used when I was on a Mac except it was more GUI based! The tools name was Houdaspot. So thank you and the community for helping this old man use this tool to help him find things on his drives a lot more efficiently!

Everything can native index mails in EML format.
This works fine with Thunderbird
but I don't know if you can configure the Windows Mail client to use this as standard format.
As you said the Windows default mail client isn't a good solution
and I don't see anything which you can't do with Thunderbird in Windows 11.

Yes I agree that I could get it to index Thunderbird’s email format. I have been attempting to get Everything to work with the Windows 11’s mail client.

Appreciate the input
