Ah, thank you. It is the "Parent Name", I assume, seems to show what I want.

After adding the column and trying to restart Everything Everything again obviously didn't save the database and did not close, I had to press "Terminate" in the window opening after trying to start Everything normally again and lost the last new indexes. Is there anything one could do to ALWAYS make Everything save the database / close correctly?

How large is your Everything.db?

Typically, the Everything.db should be around 100MB and only take a second to save to disk (per 1million files).

If the Terminate dialog is shown for more than 10 minutes, could you please send a mini crash dump:

OK, yes, but what should I do instead? The process running with 30 % CPU and more would last as long as the computer is running and I couldn't start / use Everything for that time.

To auto save your database to disk every 6 hours:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  auto save
• Select db_auto_save_interval.
• Set the value to: 21600000
  (interval in milliseconds = 6 hours = 6*60*60*1000 = 21600000)
• Select db_auto_save_type.
• Set the value to: Interval
• Click OK.

So why then are my databases so big? Just because of the few properties in the main instance? Or / and because of the about 6.7 mio. items? 3,7 GB for these? Does that make such a big difference? Obviously.

What are you indexing? -What is reported under Help -> Troubling shooting information.

Without property indexing, you should see about a 300MB database.
With property indexing you will see a larger database.
