Program shows multiples with different drive letters.

If one of my files is on an external drive, Everything will list that file as if it's in two different drives all with the same subdirectory headers, sometimes three times. Obviously, all I want to see is one instance of a file. How can I fix this?
Ideally I'd like to delete the current database file there and start over.

To automatically remove offline volumes:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab on the left.
• Check Automatically remove offline volumes.
• Click OK.

To manually remove offline volumes:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab on the left.
• For each volume:
  • Click Remove (clickable if the volume is offline)
• Click OK.

Thank you. That enabled me to start over and have the drives indexed again by Everything.

However, after indexing all over again, it still left me with part of the old problem: Two of my external drives are recognized by Everything as Drive letter 'D'. I have to figure Which Drive D I'm looking at when getting an answer from Everything. And that's goofy. Any help for that?

Everything should show the offline D: drive transparently.

Is this not happening for you?

How are you indexing your D: drive?
-If you are indexing as a folder index (Tools -> Options -> Folders), please try indexing as a FAT volume instead:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Folders tab on the left.
• Select your D: drive and click Remove.
• Click the FAT tab on the left.
• Select your D: drive and check Include in database.
• Click OK.

Please try adding the Index Volume Label column:

• In Everything, right click the result list column header and click Add Columns....
• Search for:
  label
• Select Index Volume Label and click OK.
  ---the volume label is shown in this new column which may help identify your D: drive.

Thanks for your reply. My problem finally got fixed- you were helpful. I did the Everything/Tool change, and then I went to Disk Management and formally changed drive letter names. So far (and I'm holding my breath), no problems.
