I haven't had any luck reproducing this issue.

I suspect it caused by a shell extension blowing up the stack in the Open File Dialog.

It you can reproduce the issue, please let me know.

Just as I have been suspecting for sometime now this crash happens when a CSV file that I import was created by making first a TXT file which I then open in Notepad2 4.2.25 and paste data, save it and and then rename that TXT into CSV. A similar thing happens with REG files created in such way, as they do not get added to Registry because of error saying
The specified file is not a registry script.
You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.
This issues are not present if such pre-files in TXT format I open in Notepad or Notepad3 6.23.712.1. [And if I am not mistaken I also encountered this issue when I was coping some scripts from forums to TXT files and the renaming them to extension of some scripting language]

I thought that the root cause of this was the fact that Notepad opens a newly created empty TXT with Unicode encoding, while those two other text editors with UTF-8. But that theory is debunked by taking already A-OK working CSV file, opening it in Notepad 3 and changing its code page from UTF-8 to Unicode, saving it and then manually renaming it once more from TXT to CSV - because such file does not crash Everything [and such REG file is also added to Registry without a sweat]

All in all:
● Notepad 2 is the culprit
● the issue is not limited to Everything
● the issue is already self-solved as Notepad 2 is no longer developed with Notepad 3 being its successor [and I already am in transition to using it]
