Is there a setting that makes it possible to increase the spaces between the thumbnails, in the Thumbnails view?

Yes, there are multiple settings involved in changing the spacing around thumbnails:

- Go to menu:Tools > Options > Advanced
- In the Show settings containing: field, type padding
- The 4 thumbnail_padding_xx settings control the spacing.
