To stop Everything from automatically indexing volumes:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab on the left.
• Uncheck Automatically include fixed volumes.
• Uncheck Automatically include removable volumes.
• Uncheck Automatically remove offline volumes.
• Click OK.
