Login loop if cannot connect

Post by therube »

"Login" loop if cannot connect.
I have \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS set up as a Folder index, Index subfolders, Attempt to monitor changes.

I'm currently logged out of NAS & I get...

This is repeating...

Code: Select all

b_monitor_ntfs_process_fd_update_events_thread_proc...
DB_WAIT: _db_monitor_finished_process_fd_update_events_event_proc waited 0.00018
2 seconds
CreateFileW(): 1326: Failed to open file \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS
RDC \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS 1326
CreateFileW(): 3: Failed to open file W:
RDC W: 3
FindFirstFileW \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS 1326
failed to get find data for \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS: 6
FindFirstFileW \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS 1326
failed to get find data for \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS: 6
FindFirstFileW \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS 1326
failed to get find data for \\nas\OFFICE\BACK_up_BASIS: 6
Once I logged into the NAS, I now see (& again repeating, non-stop):

Code: Select all

GetFileAttributesExW W:\ 3
failed to get find data for W:: 3
GetFileAttributesExW W:\ 3
failed to get find data for W:: 3
GetFileAttributesExW W:\ 3
failed to get find data for W:: 3
W: is also an Indexed Folder, Index Subfolders & Attempt to monitor changes.
Though in this case, W: no longer exists.
(Not sure what W: is - other then it must have been something I was messing with - in Everything, cause W: is not a drive letter I'd typically use.)

No idea how long the W: issue has been going on (though W:'s addition as an Indexed Folder must have been quite some time ago).

So logging into the NAS "fixed" the one issue, & removing W: "fixed" the other issue.
But should they loop, non-stop?

Everything should timeout after 1 minute.
Once the timeout is reached Everything will stop trying to access your NAS.

Is Everything showing a prompt to login to your NAS?
Did you see Everything fail to access your NAS for more than one minute?

No.
(It has never done that & I had never even given that type of scenario any thought.
Don't know that I'd even want that. Rather simply have Everything show the drive to be "offline".)
Did you see Everything fail to access your NAS for more than one minute?
Not sure.
I saw the loop, then tried to figure out the reason.
I realized that I must have been logged out of my NAS so I figured once I logged it, Everything would "connect" - which it seem to have done. And then, the other loop (W:) turned up. Now, did one or the other loop loop for more then 1 minute during that time, not sure.

(Next time it happens, I'll give it a look ;-).)
