[Resolved] Folders do not update as per the set frequency

I had a few FAT drives added to folders and opted to monitor changes and update them every minute. For trial I added a few files or deleted them over a period of 10 minutes.

I can confirm they do not update or especially in the 1 minute mode.

Please send the debug output over the 10 minutes if this is reproducible.

I wonder how I got it wrong. I checked it over some time and saw that it is working. Might be I had the whole word modifier on , which could have hid the files. Anyway it is fine now...

Ok. I have another issue. The update checks only for file names and not other attributes. I reduced the image size of 2 files in my Pen drive and it is past few minutes (set to update every 1 minute) , still Everything puts up the old size of the image. If I made a copy of those images, they are noted and listed with the original size. But the size of the original pictures in Everything remains unaltered.

This is normal, Everything does not index file sizes, dates or attributes.
This information is cached by Everything when it is displayed, sorted or searched.

To refresh this information press F5.

Ok. Even closing and opening leads to a different result. In that case may I suggest that any Everything open windows can refresh itself after making the compulsory updates of the folders if it does not have a bearing on the effectiveness.

Closing and re-opening an Everything window will clear this information cache.

Refreshing all this information when updating folders would severely reduce Everything's performance.
However, I do wish to add such an option in a future release.

That is right. If the performance overload is on account of seeking information then it is understandable. If I add a 100 files it finds a place immediately. If the same 100 files had their date or size modified (any other modification will create a new file?) then refreshing them without disturbing them might be still possible? Please consider this as a request for the future....
