Extensionless files need a marker for the Column of Extension

Post by Thy Grand Voidinesss »

Currently when user sorts items by clicking header of the Column of Extension the results can show mixed files and folders thus not informing user right away what a given item is [file or folder]

Hence I suggest adding an option of making it possible to show any sort of marker user will define for files that do not possess extension and / or for folders. For example one might decide then to just use something a simple as

Code: Select all

>FILE<
vs.

Code: Select all

>>FOLDER<<
or just one of them [thus leaving the other being shown in that Column empty like it is now] or to use something symbolic like for example

Code: Select all

for files and

Code: Select all

to indicate folders

And yes: I am aware of the existence of the

Search > Sort By > Mix Files and Folders

option, but utilizing it complicates quick sorting and requires from user constant toggling of it

Sorting by extension will always show folders first.
Even when Mix files and folders is enabled.

I will consider an option to set the display extension for folders.
Thank you for the suggestion.

For now, the Type column might help differentiate between files/folders.
