VOLUME LABEL Problem

Post by Dengo24 »

Hello,
I own a lot of external HDDs.
But every external HDD has its own "Volume Label" names. So far so beautiful.

But apparently Everything couldn't store correct volume labels. That's the problem!
If I search for certain files and find them, Volume Label is displayed incorrectly!

I'll give it an example.
I'm looking for "123456789.jpeg", these should be in the eHDD volume label called PV202404.
But in the Everything table there are other volume label names! This is completely wrong.

About how many is "a lot"?

Does every external HDD has its own (assigned) drive letter?
As in, have you assigned specific drive letters to specific drives (so there is a [relatively] static corresponding drive letter to a particular Volume Label)?

Sorry I can't write good English!
Normally the external HDD has its own drive letter associated with it.
But it happens that 2 eHDDs of the same drive letter, when the eHDD is replaced.

This is then unreliable, I no longer know which eHDD belongs to.
Ideally, the drive name should be assigned to Everything!

The problem is that "Volume Label" could not be assigned correctly!

for example:
- eHDD1 = Volume Label: "PV201605" = Drive G
- eHDD2 = Volume Label: "PV202001" = Drive G
- eHDD3 = Volume Label: "PV202404" = Drive G
I just got the best food "12345678.jpeg".
After all, in false "Volume label" and, Drive G is correct.

Try Index Volume Label instead of Volume Label.

Requires version 1.5.0.1362a or above. You will have to attach each eHDDs for Everything to pick up the current volume label
(so you will need to update the index for this drive)
