Is it possible to restore the filter as dropdown as in Everything 1.4?

Do you mean the filter bar enabled/disabled in View-Filter Bar near the top of that drop-down menu?

So you didn't try what my reply says? Because that is where you get it back from.
Does this menu not exist for you?
If you don't have the menu somehow in 1.5, press alt at least the left alt on your keyboard.
This will open the menu with the View option.
In your screenshot it's the menu that says File, Edit, View and such. That View button is where you should find the filter bar toggle.

Also I think "Menu bar" is the one that shows this menu. If you want the menu on at all times like your 1.4, also toggle that on.

Oh boy, I am so sorry I wasted your time.

I clicked "Filters" in 1.5 before (which is the same name as in 1.4).
But the entry "Filter bar" is there and working, once clicked.

I see, ye I enabled that one too. But had to double-check and saw the bar thing the second time.
I stopped using that bar as those filters can be searched and that adds them to search history.
So "Videos" is vid: for example. (No, I am wrong. It's video: but you can find the correct versions in that help menu anyway)
In case you want search history to reflect those filters when you look back, they are all named in Help-Search Syntax.
