Everything won't open the UI

Everything won't open the UI

Everything Version 1.4.1.1026 (x64) running on Windows 11

I click to open, but nothing happens. I see the Everything icon in the system tray, but the UI just won't open at all.

Click the system tray icon doesn't do anything, re-launching the exe doesn't do anything.

I have to kill the process with the task manager and then restart.

This happens many times a day.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling.

Is there anything that can be done?

Stop the Everything process
and rename your ini file to any new name.
Start Everything and it will start with a fresh ini.

Also try creating a fresh index:

Terminate Everything.exe process with the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + ESC)
Delete your %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything\Everything.db
Restart Everything.



Please sort by date modified and check if there's any software spamming your file system with changes.
