Define program for 'File > Edit'

Post by ArchCarrier »

It would be nice to be able to define a program for the 'Edit' function. Now all files open in Notepad. I'd like them to open in my preferred text editor. I've looked into the Custom Verb function, but that is a system-wide setting if I understand correctly.

Changing the verb in the registry is system wide.

I wish to add more customizations to the context menu in a future release.
Currently the only way to modify the context menu in Everything is through the registry which will also effect Windows Explorer.

Thanks for the reply, David.

No, because there is a difference between opening and editing a file, for example a HTML document.
