Suddenly I was getting an error message that the USN journal couldn't be created It's was OK on my D Drive but not on my main C: drive.
The box in options was disabled where normally it's enabled
This happened across all three instances.
It appears to have corrected itself but I can't work out why.
I'm using one service for all 3 instances.

What was the error message shown? was there an error code?
It sounds like you have deleted your USN Journal.
The NTFS driver maintains the USN Journal (not Everything)
Deleting the USN Journal will take some time.
Deletion runs in the background and will take a few seconds to several minutes depending on the size on your journal.
Rebooting your PC will usually allow for the deletion to complete.
