1288: Alt+Search+Video - changed?

Well, it changed at home, but not here?

At home, where I used to to;
Alt+S+V, I now need to do, Alt+S+V+<CR>

here;
Alt+S+V (no <CR> needed) toggles from (whatever) to Video

I believe ? that "shortcut key menu highlighting" is not visible (for Filters) in 1288 (where it was before - at least for some of them)?
(And yes I understand that there is some potential duplication there; like Alt+S+A brings up 'Add...' rather then 'Audio', but that's always been the case [for which I would just do Alt+S+E+<down-arrow>, to get to Audio].)

As it is, here, Alt+S+E, does (now?) require a <CR> (Alt+S+E+<CR>) to effect the Everything filter.
(Maybe that's always been like that. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to Alt+S+E+<down-arrow>.)

In any case, for whatever reason, I'm (now) seeing differences on different ends, & often I now have to hit an additional keystroke <CR> to effect a filter?

Maybe it depends on what (other Filters) I have (added) to Search?

Additionally, I believe that Alt+S+V is (now) an actual toggle, where before it would just invoke Video.
(Or invoke it "again", if it where already enabled.)

(Now it toggles; if on Video, to something else, if not on Video, to Video.)
I'm not sure that is wanted behavior.
(Very initial look said it is NOT wanted behavior.)
Often I will (blindly) Alt+S+V to ensure that I am in Video - without actually looking to see if I were already.
Now, if I do that, I may very well be toggled out of Video - when in fact, that is just what I did want (to be in Video).

(I'll assume there were inconsistencies there that you're wanting to clean up, but I'm not sure if it's for the better?
I'd much rather do Alt+S+V to get somewhere, & then either double-click the status bar VIDEO or Alt+S+<something else> to get to something else.)

When there are multiple filters that start with a "V", ALT+S+V stops at the first found one. Pressing another "V" will jump to the next one that sterts with "V". When you reach the one you were looking for, you have to ENTER it to select it.

So my guess is that you have multiple filters with a name starting with a "V".


For others reading this:
it is also possible to add a keyboard shortcut to your filters. Pressing it will activate it; pressing it again will activate the default filter (which will be the Everything filter in most cases).

Consider disabling menu_escape_amp and renaming your Video filter to &Video

• In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
  /menu_escape_amp=0
• If successful you should see menu_escape_amp=0 in the status bar for a few seconds.
• From the Search menu, click Organize filters....
• Select the Video filter and click Edit....
• Change the Name to: &Video
• Click OK.
• Click OK.

The & prefix will define the shortcut key.

Now Alt + S, V will always select your Video filter. (even when you have multiple filters starting with V)
You can also do this with other filters if desired.
