Sorting Suggestions

Advanced Sort is a really handy feature! I often search for files that have multiple exact copies spread all of the place that are the same date. My "Sort by" is set to Date Modified and "Then by" is set to PATH so that files on C: show up first before D: and remote network paths.

Wish: Save the advanced sort and have them apply to all new sessions by default. Or at least an option to save them. Right now I have to apply the advanced sort to every new session. Thanks!

Please try creating a filter to apply your advanced sort:

• In Everything, from the Search menu, click Add to Filters....
• Change the Name to:
  Date Modified Path Sort
• Change the Search to:
  sort:dm;path
• Click OK.

Filters can be activated from the Search menu, Filter bar (View -> Filters), right clicking the status bar, filter macro or filter keyboard shortcut.

You may also like to set this filter as the default under Tools -> Options -> Home -> Filter.
