What does set run count do?
What does set run count do?
This is driving me nuts. I've googled this and I still don't know happens when you right click on an object and select "set run count #" I know it has something to do with search history, but what does thing thing do exactly?

In short, run history lets you get to your frequently run files faster.
Every time you open a result in Everything, its run count is incremented by one.
The run count can be set by right-clicking a result and clicking Set Run Count.
When you press Enter from the Search box, the result with the highest run count is selected.

- In Everything, from the View menu, under the Sort by submenu, click Run Count.

- Click the History tab on the left.
- Uncheck Enable Run History.

Thanks for that. Setting it to sort buy run showed me exactly how it works. But how do I set everything back to zero? Just clear history?

To clear your run history:
Right click your files and click Set Run Count...
Set the run count to: 0.
Click OK.
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the History tab on the left.
- Under Run History, click Clear Now.
- Click OK.

Set the run count to: 0.
Click OK.

Yes that did the trick. You can also turn it off if you don't want it remembering anything.
