When I use a wildcard, Everything returns only folders. I get this with Everything v1.4 and v1.5.

What are you trying to match with *kv?
I am assuming the stem part before the extension?
Please try the following search in Everything 1.5:
stem:*kv
(this will match kv at the end of the stem part which is the filename without the extension)
Please try the following search:
*KV.*
(this will match kv before the extension, this one might have issues if you have multiple dots (.) in the filename)
Everything matches the whole filename when using wildcards.
This can be disabled from Tools -> Options -> Search -> Match whole filename when using wildcards.
With Match whole filename when using wildcards disabled, please try the following search:
