Hi,
I've set up an ETP server and indexed some network drives.
On the client machine, changed the Index location to the ETP server.
Is it possible to prevent users from disconnecting from the ETP server?
The users have standard user accounts.
If we roll this out, users will disconnect from the server, and add their own network drives to the folders list so Everything will index them.
We want to centrally control what drives Everything indexes. If this isn't possible, the next best alternative would be to prevent users from adding folders to the indexing menu.
Thanks,
Steven

No.Is it possible to prevent users from disconnecting from the ETP server?
Please try the Everything Server.
With Everything 1.5 you can use group policies to lock down what is indexed.

Hi,
Thanks for your response, this has helped lock down the features.
There is one issue I noticed if a user disconnects from the drive, in the index menu, they have the option to add a folder. Is it possible to disable this option?
I've attached a screenshot for reference.
Thanks,
Steven

Re: Prevent users from disconnecting from a ETP Server
Please try enabling the following group policies:
volumes
folders
When enabled, the Index -> Add Volume menu items are disabled and users cannot adjust what volumes/folders are indexed.
