Hello David. I thought I was out of date with 1.4.1.1022 on the older Windows 7 laptop of mine, but see now that 1.5 is an alpha version.
That said, when I Help, Check for updates I receive this popup:-
Install_09.png
Install_09.png (12.53 KiB) Viewed 1448 times
The pop up doesn't really tell me what went on.

I would like to suggest a low-priority modification that saw the message become something like:-

Code: Select all

Everything is up to date.
I upgraded from 1.4.1.1022 to a.b.c.defg
or in my example

Code: Select all

Everything is already up to date.
I did not upgrade from 1.4.1.1022
and perhaps in smaller font
"There is a new alpha version at <this link>" although newcomers like me maybe should not be told about alpha versions except by reading the forums?
Thanks, Chris

The 1.5 alpha version isn't offered as an upgrade to 1.4 users.
You have to update manually
