Hello,
I'm not 100% sure on this one but it seems to happen if I open path from a search within Everything (1.5a but also on older versions) on a remote folder.
If I do some file operations, copy won't complete (slow down and stop) and I can't cancel operation, cannot close Explorer from Task Manager, I have to force shutdown.
Am I wrong?
Thanks for this wonderful tool, anyway.
LAN operation : Explorer hangs, have to force PC shutdown
Re: LAN operation : Explorer hangs, have to force PC shutdown
Do you mean that you are opening the Path in Windows Explorer (or similar)?if I open path from a search within Everything
So you "open path", which opens Windows Explorer, & from W/E you edit the file in notepad, or you copy that file (from within W/E) to some other place, & the edit or copy fails, hanging things?
That is not normal.

Thanks for your answer.
In fact, I just search for a certain file on the LAN, I then open its folder from within Everything (right click / open path) so I can add other files in the same folder.
I already noticed that when you open/lauch files directly from Everythings, it's still in the 'background' hanging onto this file.

Could be a bad context menu shell extension?
See if disabling context menu shell extensions helps:
context_menu_shell_extensions
shell_execute_invoke_id_list
shell_execute_id_list
See if disabling context menu shell extensions helps:
- Copy and paste the following into your Everything search box:
/context_menu_shell_extensions=0 - Press ENTER in your Everything search box.
- If successful, icon_shell_extensions=0 is shown in the status bar for a few seconds.
context_menu_shell_extensions
shell_execute_invoke_id_list
shell_execute_id_list

So far, so good but I'll keep testing and let you know (only had to transfer small files).
