Everything File Lists (EFUs) are extremely useful. But I use Everything always with "Hide results when the search is empty" option checked since otherwise the whole index of all drives is a very long random list that isn't useful in any way. But when that option is checked, EFUs become empty when we load/open them, and I've to type: * every time to browse/see/load all the contents of the EFU list.
In a future version of "Everything", would it be possible for some setting/property to be stored inside the EFU file itself or some advanced option in Everything app to show the list's full contents by default even with "Hide results when the search is empty" checked? Or can you just change the default behavior so EFUs list the full contents anyway by default regardless of that option ?
Please consider it as during normal usage of the app, whenever we load/open any EFU, it's a file list so we want the filtered contents to be visible right away. But for normal usage of the Everything app which lists the entire database's contents, hiding it by default makes more sense.
Thank you for a wonderful tool. I have been using it since the XP/2000 days (have it installed inside a Windows 2000 Virtual machine too).
Show EFU contents by default even with "Hide results when search is empty"
Re: Show EFU contents by default even with "Hide results when search is empty"
Thank you for your feedback.
The next alpha update will ignore "Hide results when search is empty" for file lists.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: Show EFU contents by default even with "Hide results when search is empty"
I am super happy with the latest alpha release which has this feature. Thank you thank you thank you! It is so handy. We double click an EFU file from our File Manager and all the contents are listed. Far better than Windows Search-ms saved search now given how Everything works with NTFS MFT!
